Rudge Multi

A very tidy Rudge Multi.

Picture taken at the 2008 Festival of 1000 Bikes.

And thanks to Tony Couling who owns the bike, for getting in touch to provide some detail on the machine.  It is a 500cc Multi, manufactured in August 1914, immediately prior to the outbreak of WW1. It is thought to be amongst the very last machines to be produced for public sale before the factory changed over to war production. It was despatched to the Glasgow dealer and spent its early years on the Isle of Bute. It was later used for sand racing on the beach at Rothesay.
