8, 9 February 2014 | The 34th Carole Nash Bristol Classic MotorCycle Show | Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 6QN | The Bath and West Showground provides the curtain raiser to a season of classic exhibitions. The Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show is almost as old as the International though and, despite the name, is held near Shepton Mallet rather than in the Bristol Dockland Warehouse where it originated. Naturally given the time of year most of the action happens inside and well away from any possibility of snow and wet. Attendance grows each year, with plenty of room to expand, with close on 20,000 people descending on the halls last year. Advance tickets: Adult £10, Senior £8, children under 12 £3. 21, 22, 23 February 2014 | Race Retro: International Historic Motorsport Show 2013 | Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth, near Coventry, Warwickshire, CV8 2LZ | This is an event aimed both at motorsport enthusiasts and professionals and spans eight decades of car and motorcycle racing. British motor racing legend Sir Stirling Moss will be attending. Although the show focuses on four-wheeled racing machines, there is a motorcycle section with a concours display for retro racing bikes and café racers. Open: Friday & Saturday 9:30am to 5:30pm, Sunday 9:30am to 4:30pm. Admission (on the gate): Friday & Saturday: Adult £25.00, Child (5-15) £5.00. 2 March 2014 | Normous Newark Autojumble | Newark Showground, Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire, England, NG24 2NY | This autojumble caters to both classic motorcycles and cars. The trade stalls are situated both inside and outside. There is also a large display of classic cars and motorcycles. Parking is free. Gates open at 10.00am. 10, 11 May 2014 | The Thundersprint Festival of Motorcycling | Darley Moor Circuit, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 2ET | There will be the best Grand Prix bikes from the last 75 years of motorcycle racing in action and on display. Star riders of the past and present such as Scott Redding, Nick Jefferies and Jim Redman will be taking part. You can enter the Thundersprint Hill Climb and numerous cavalcades. There will be a large motorcycle trade and general shopping area. Don’t forget to bring your off-spring; admission for children is free, and there will be plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Keep your eyes on the sky too as an RAF Spitfire Aerobatic Display will take a place. Refreshments will be available on site.
