Ariel Motorcycles named a range of UK motorbikes the "Ariel Red Hunter" in 1932. These motorcycles were designed by Val Page and consisted of an overhead valve single-cylinder engine that he created several years earlier.
The Ariel Red Hunter was intended to be a sporty version of the previous model, the Ariel 500, but the 250 and 350 cc versions were manufactured and became widely popular with Trials and grass track riders.
The Ariel Red Hunter bikes were easily recognized because of their dark red petrol and oil tanks. These bikes were meticulously tested for performance and quality.
Around 1950, the Ariel Red Hunter was improved upon by updating the rear suspension and alloy cylinder heads. More chrome was added into the details and it became a popular touring bike.
