Triumph Thunderbird Pictures
The Triumph Thunderbird, or 6T and TR65, was in production from 1949 to 1966. This model is truly a classic and its design was carried on through later Triumph models.
The parallel twin four-stroke engine was powerful and produced enough torque for introduction to the American market. The Thunderbird was the first motorcycle to display the paper dart decal.
The Thunderbird is rich with history. In 1953, Marlon Brando rode a 6T in the film "The Wild One."
In 1981, the Triumph Thunderbird TR65 was born. This motorcycle had a slightly smaller engine, paint rather than alloy, and economy tires. It was marketed as a budget bike.
