Thanks to Lee Holth for this picture of his late ’70 / early ’71 CZ 250 Type 980. Lee says "One of the last Side Pipers, all yellow. It originally had a side pipe (has the mounts) but I added the low pipe. Still has the early short steering head and side pipe number plate mounts but the lower frame splits at the front engine mount like the later low pipe bikes, although the rear engine and mount is still the wider side pipe set up. One of those "use up the rest of those parts" bikes perhaps. A transition model. Still has the heavy cast iron pegs; not the solid ankle breakers that it came with but the folding accessory items of the day."
