Thanks to Dave Martin for this picture of Bill Ivy and his broken Yamaha at the 1966 IoM TT.
Was this the year when Ivy knocked 26 seconds off the 125cc lap record? & lapped at 98.55mph just nine years after the first 500cc 100mph lap.
Oh I see it’s the V4 125 that was not raced in the 1966 TT Ivy won the race on the water cooled twin.
The above picture is probably from the 1967 125 TT Ivy retired with a punctured radiator a stone from team mate Phil Read’s rear wheel did the damage when he & Ivy were dicing for the lead Read went on to win.
Ich glaube nicht, dass das Foto von der TT ist, da auch das Frontnummernschild mit dunklem Untergrund ist. Meines Wissens wird bei der TT mit hellem Grund gefahren.

ich bin ein ganz großer Bill Ivy-Fan und suche von ihm Fotos, Zeitungsartikel möglichst aus der Zeit vor Yamaha.
Zum Bild – bis jetzt bin ich auch von der TT 67 ausgegangen, wegen wegendefekter Kombi an Schulter. Mit dem hellen Nummernschild wäre richtig, bei der TT hätte er auch zusätzlich eine Rückennummer, oder?
