Yoshimura Honda Pictures
Add Your Photos! Many thanks to Howard Ostle for these pictures of his original Yoshimura Honda, one of only 2 bikes to leave Japan in the 1960s. It has still got the works alloy fairing, tank, seat and Did front wheel.
This is one of Pop Yoshimuras early racing Hondas, it was raced in Japan in the early 60s and is one of only 2 original Pop Yoshimura works bikes to leave Japan. These two bikes were sent to America to race in the AMA series to promote the Yoshimura name in America. This bike was bought by a collector and restored in the late 1990. The whereabouts of the other bike is not known, making this the only original POP Yoshimura bike outside Japan. It has a high specification for a 1962 bike, Sand cast Keihn carbs, Alloy hand finished faring, seat, tank, 16,000 Honda rev counter, 4 leading front brakes, twin leading rear brake, 5 speed racing g/box. It won 1st prize at 2 classic bike shows in the race class this year. Watch out for this bike as Howard intends to run this bike on Parades at major Race meeting and shows.
The other documented bike is owned by Matt Harlowe. He has had ownership since 1971. It is located in the NW region of the United States. It is believed that these are the only two original Factory Yoshimura examples to still exist.
