1960 Ducati 125 Sport Special Pictures
Add Your Photos! Thanks to Niklas Erikkson for these pictures of a 1960 Ducati 125 Sport Special. This model was specially developed for the Swedish market. The Swedish laws at that time stated that a lightweight motorcycle should weight less than 75 kilos, with a full tank. At the Ducati factory they solved this “problem” by using a frame, tank, saddle etc from an 85 Sport and put in a 125cc motor. They used 16 inch wheels, with aluminum rims and modified the underside of the tank so that you could ony fill to 3.5 litres. They called this Swedish market model “Sport Special” and the weight is only 74 kilos with a full tank. Niklas found this unrestored example a couple of weeks ago. It is all original except the silencer.
