Thanks to Bernie Stevens for these before and after pictures of his latest restoration. Only about forty of these bikes sold in the UK. This one came from the USA and is the only one in the UK at the moment.

      Hello Mark, just seen your enquirey,I am afraid trying to find spares for the above Maico is a bit like trying to find ‘Hens teeth’ you can get some electrical parts and rubber parts but alas no cycle or engine parts.I have known about ‘Taifun’ bikes for about 30 odd years and found that most owners hoard there bits and pieces like gold dust.get my email address from Nigel i think i have 1 or 2 addresses in the USA.Hope you get lucky with your seach!
