Norton Dominator

The Norton Dominator was born with the hopes of it becoming a long-running product for the Norton Company. It was designed to compete with the Triumph Speed Twin and was in production from 1948 to the last 60's.

The Dominator 7 was produced until 1955. It had an iron head engine with a plunger frame and was driven by a chain and gears. The upgrade in 1953 boasted a larger front wheel and a silencer.

The Dominator 88, or "De Luxe", had a featherbed frame and a 497cc engine. The Dominator 99 came around in 1956 and was built with a 596 cc engine to increase power output to 31 bhp.

The Dominator 77's were produced for two different markets; the Australian market and the UK market. The Aussie bike was in production from 1950 to 1952 and had a 500 cc engine whereas the English version had a 600 cc engine and was considered a shining example of British motorcycle technology.
