Royal Enfield Interceptor

The Royal Enfield Interceptor was the UK's attempt to compete with the superiorly engineered Japanese motorcycle manufacturers racing bikes. Between 1962 and 1968, the Series I and Series II bikes were produced for an American market.

These motorcycles were bestowed with plenty of chrome and horsepower. High-performance engines made speeds exceeding 175 mph possible.

However, as with other UK manufacturers, demand outnumbered supply and consumers began to look elsewhere for their machines. In 1967, one factory closed, followed by another in 1970.

Upon closing their doors, 200 Series II's were stranded and purchased by Rickman brothers. A limited run of Rickman Interceptors were built to end the reign of the Interceptor.
