Many thanks to Glen Ivett for this picture of his Great Grandfather, Alonzo Palmer. This picture was used on the front cover of the Daily Mirror, March 5th 1910 as part of an article covering the death of Alonzo and his friend Tom Garner in what is believed to be the first fatal collision of a car and train at a level crossing. The collision took place near Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, UK.

    I remember you showing this picture and telling the story of Alonzo back in the early 1990′s at BAE Preston. Still got the Austin Allegro Estate?
