1929 Velocette USS Pictures
Add Your Photos! This Utility Super Sports model (USS) was produced for one year only when it was replaced with the GTP. 260 were produced and only two are known to remain.
This machine was originally registered to the Velocette factory and it is believed that Fred Povey rode it in the 1929 Lightweight TT. It was taxed for road use between 1930 and 1941 when it was probably laid up for the war.
Only the spokes and fishtails are new – all other major parts are original. Based on the Model U, this 2 stroke had a new cylinder and a separate cast iron head. Bore and stroke are 63mm x 80mm. It has a 3 speed gearbox and the forks are by Webb.
