1955 MV Agusta Turismo Rapido Pictures
Add Your Photos! After the launch of its first production four-stroke – a 175cc overhead-camshaft unit-construction single – MV followed up in 1954 with the similar – although overhead-valve – Gran Turismo 125. Superseded in 1955 by the Turismo Rapido featuring a revise rear sub frame and a dual-seat in place of its predecessor s sprung saddle the model remained in production until 1957. Like their larger siblings the small MVs were very expensive – at around £200 the Turismo Rapido cost as much as a British 500 – which explains why so few of these the exquisitely engineered little bikes were sold in the UK. The machine was acquired in its current state 12-15 years ago and has not been used since.
Added dell Orto fuel filter and venturi tank resprayed with original factory livery replaced throttle slide.
Originally registered in Turin with reg # TO 13 7138 by a Signorio Carlo who was born in Los Angeles 04/11/1909. Auctioned by Bonhams in the UK in the mid-nineties and then changed hands twice before I bought it on eBay.uk.
How much costs if it’s on selling!
