Unknown Bike – can you help? Pictures
Add Your Photos!Hello folks,
This is my Grandad – am looking to ID the bike.
I have the crazy notion of finding one, doing it up and doing the Pioneer run.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Cheers in anticipation.
Hello,
I can’t see enough of the bike to have an opinion. But, a smart chap might refer the registration number, clearly visible, to the VMCC. I feel sure they may be able to help, tho’ it may be a fee paying service. Good start tho’.

Looks like a mid 1920′s AJS.
Hi, Possibly a circa 1930 Rudge.
Tracing the reg number PO3219 is certainly the best bet.
Not a 1930 Rudge – they had saddle tanks.
My preference is a 1927 Triumph, either late model P or early Model N. Flat tank, top tube over tank. chain drive, drum brake adopted in 1927. Hand change lever with bracket to frame – typical Triumph. Triumph Model H still had belt drive up to 1926 and rim brake. Flat cylinder head so side valve. In 1928 Model P phased out and Model N adopted saddle tank.
