On display at the 2010 Footman James Classic Motor Show, at the NEC.  Read the blog for more event details.

Dean from Tasmania (another Coventry owner) has made some comments on this bike.  ”Roy Ponting told me that the Challenge Cycle co was taken over by Coventry Eagle and he assumed that some one who had owned an original Coventry Challenge  wanted a replacement  and went to Coventry Eagle and asked for a new one and so they badged it as a Coventry Challenge He told me that the engine and frame numbers follow the sequence of the Coventry Eagle. The Tank  transfers on both are similar but not identical.”

  1. This machine in fact is a coventry eagle badged as Coventry Challenge. If you want to see a authentic actual Cioventry Challenge have a look at the web site of the Veteran & Vintage Motor cycle Club of South Australia were one is shown in a display put on by the club. We believe that it is the obnly authentic Coventry Challenge Motorcycle in the world. Roy Ponting confirmed that to me several years ago. Cheers Dean.
