Thanks to Kent Scholten for this picture taken in January 1968. "I bought this bike new in 1967. I took the photo of my child sitting on it. He is now 46. I bought it from factory rider Skip Van Leeuwen, a personal friend. I couldn’t afford the Bonneville so Skip customized it some. A bonny tank, pipes, seat, chrome, and a paint job. All before I picked it up."
The above Triumph is a TR6 Trophy 650cc. Skip Van Leeuwen is a 5 time national US champion and Hall of Fame reciepiant.
Vintage Bikes, I spoke with Skip Van Leeuwen who prepared this bike for me in 1967.
The basic bike was a 650 Trophy. Added were the custom paint job, the
exhaust system, custom seat, chrome shocks, custom grips, bonneville
gas tank, and maybe the chrome headlight.
