Now I REALLY like this one! It’s a Triumph Speed Twin from it’s first year in production. They were unveiled at the July 1937 Motorcycle Show at Olympia, London and was considered by the media to be the outstanding model of the show. They were originally priced at £74 and were the only 500cc OHV vertical twin in quantity production. They certainly started something! Hello.
The “SPEED TWIN”‘ started it all, leading to VERTICAL TWIN domination of not only the ENGLISH manufacturers,, but spreading to AMERICA, leading to demise/Indian, almost H-D. Possible ten(10) ENGLISH motorcycles adopted the design, including those of firearms origins.
The WAR was to be close at hand, and the TWIN would soon be the SINGULAR design of choice.
