Frank Longman on his TT winning Lightweight OK Supreme which was the first time a 15degree downdraft carburettor had been used on a bike. He led the race from start to finish at an average speed of 62.87mph. G.H. Jones was the designer responsible for the works bikes which had a new lighter frame but cracks appeared during practice and the frames were sent back to the factory for last minute repairs. However Frank Longman opted to rebuild his bike using the previous year’s frame. He clearly made a wise decision. I got that information first-hand during correspondence with G.H.Jones himself. For a brief time, I owned the incomplete remains of this bike.
